There were these animals in the Far East. However, by the 60th. last century wild Bengal cats were on the verge of extinction.

Abyssinian cat
The Abyssinian cat is remarkably similar to the images of cats that can be seen in ancient Egyptian frescoes. Therefore, many breeders like the legend that these cats are descendants of the sacred temple animals. However, in fact, the Abyssinian breed appeared relatively recently, at the end of the nineteenth century.
